What quality should I use?
Around 75–80 is hard to tell apart from the original for photos and often saves 50–80%. For screenshots with text, use PNG or WebP at 90 or more.
Why did my PNG get bigger?
PNG is lossless, so re-saving it rarely helps. If the result would be larger, the original is kept. Convert to WebP or JPG for a real reduction, or make the image smaller.
How does the target size work?
The tool tries lower qualities until the file fits under the size you enter. If it still does not fit, also reduce the image dimensions.
