Frequently asked questions
How is WPM calculated?
WPM counts correctly typed characters divided by five (the standard length of a word) per minute. Raw WPM counts every character you typed, including mistakes.
What is a good typing speed?
Most people type 35–45 WPM. 60 WPM is fast for office work, and touch typists often reach 80–100 WPM with over 95% accuracy.
Does it work with Chinese, Japanese or Korean?
Yes. The test waits until your input method commits the characters. For Chinese and Japanese, characters per minute (CPM) is the more meaningful number.
What does easy mode do?
It removes capital letters and punctuation, so you can focus on letters and rhythm while learning.
