    WebRTC leak test

    Runs locally

Connect your VPN first, then press start. The test compares the IP websites see with the addresses WebRTC exposes.

    IP seen by websites
    —
    over HTTPS
    Public IP via WebRTC
    —
    STUN result
    Local IP via WebRTC
    —
    your network address

    How to use

    1. Turn on your VPN or proxy and wait until it is connected.
    2. Press start. The browser contacts public STUN servers the same way video call sites do.
    3. If WebRTC shows a public IP that is different from the website IP, your real address can leak.
    4. Fix a leak with the WebRTC protection option of your VPN app, a browser setting or an extension, then test again.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is a WebRTC leak?

WebRTC lets browsers make direct audio, video and data connections. To find a path, the browser collects its own addresses, and some VPNs do not route this traffic, so websites can learn your real public IP.

My local IP is shown as hidden. Is that good?

Yes. Modern browsers replace local addresses with a random ".local" name (mDNS), so websites cannot see your network address.

Does a local IP like 192.168.x.x matter?

It does not reveal who you are, but it can help fingerprint your device. Most browsers hide it unless the page has camera or microphone permission.
