Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between fast and precise?
Fast copies the original data without re-encoding, so it is instant and lossless, but videos can only be cut at keyframes, which may be up to a few seconds away. Precise re-encodes the trimmed part, so it starts on the exact frame but takes longer.
Which formats are supported?
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI and audio such as MP3, M4A and WAV. Fast mode keeps the original format; precise mode creates MP4 (video) or MP3 (audio).
Is my file uploaded?
No. Cutting happens in your browser with ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly.
