    Sensor test

    Runs locally

Start the sensors, then tilt, shake and rotate the device. Every value should react.

    Update rate 0 Hz

On iPhone and iPad, motion access must be allowed after tapping start.

    How to use

    1. Open this page on your phone or tablet and press start. iPhone and iPad ask for motion access.
    2. Lay the device flat: the level bubble should sit in the middle and Z acceleration should read about 9.8 m/s².
    3. Rotate the device. Gyroscope values change while it moves and return to about zero when it stops.
    4. Turn around slowly to check the compass heading.

    Frequently asked questions

    Nothing happens on my computer.

Most desktop and laptop computers have no motion sensors. Use a phone or tablet.

The compass points the wrong way.

Magnetometers need calibration. Move the phone in a figure-eight a few times and keep it away from magnets and metal.

Why do the values shake when the phone is still?

Small noise is normal for every sensor. Large jumps at rest can mean a faulty sensor.
