    Monitor test

    Runs locally

Open a pattern in full screen and look closely. Move through all of them with Space or the arrow keys.

Photosensitivity warning: this test uses flashing light and fast-changing images, and may play sounds. If you have epilepsy or are sensitive to flashing light, do not use it.

    Space / click / → next · ← previous · Esc exit

    How to use

    1. Clean the screen first; dust looks a lot like a dead pixel.
    2. Start the full-screen sequence. Space, click or the right arrow moves to the next pattern; Esc exits.
    3. On solid colors, look for dots that stay black, white or a single color.
    4. For backlight bleed, darken the room and check the edges on the black pattern.

    Frequently asked questions

    Dead pixel or stuck pixel?

A dead pixel stays black on every color. A stuck pixel stays red, green, blue or white. Stuck pixels can sometimes be revived; dead ones cannot.

How much backlight bleed is normal?

Faint glow in a corner at high brightness is common on IPS panels. Bright patches visible at normal brightness in a lit room are worth a return request.

Why do I see stripes in the gradients?

Visible steps (banding) can come from 6-bit panels, color profiles or reduced color settings in the GPU driver.
