Why change the title?
PDF readers and browsers show the title instead of the file name, and search engines use it in results. A clear title makes documents easier to find.
What does removing metadata clear?
The title, author, subject, keywords, creating program, producer and dates, plus the XMP metadata block. The page content is not changed.
Is anything else hidden in a PDF?
Comments, form data, attachments and earlier revisions can also contain information. Check those too before publishing sensitive documents.
