Frequently asked questions
Which format should I pick?
WebP gives small files and is supported by all current browsers. JPG works everywhere. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency without loss but makes larger files.
What happens to transparency?
PNG, WebP and AVIF keep it. JPG cannot store transparency, so those areas are filled with the background color you choose.
Are animated GIFs supported?
Only the first frame is converted. Use a video tool for animations.
