    Refresh rate test

    Runs locally

The browser draws in sync with your display. This page measures that rhythm for you.

Photosensitivity warning: this test uses flashing light and fast-changing images, and may play sounds. If you have epilepsy or are sensitive to flashing light, do not use it.

    How to use

    1. Keep this tab visible and wait a few seconds for the reading to settle.
    2. Compare the measured value with the refresh rate set in your OS display settings.
    3. Watch the moving blocks. Trails mean slow pixel response; jumps mean dropped frames.

    Frequently asked questions

It shows 60 Hz but my monitor is 144 Hz.

Check the refresh rate in your OS display settings, use DisplayPort or a capable HDMI cable, and make sure battery saver is not limiting the browser.

Why does the value move slightly?

Timers in browsers are not perfectly precise. The median over the last few seconds is the value to trust.
