Approximate averages for a simple visual reaction. Online tests add about 30–60 ms of mouse and screen delay, so your real reaction is a little faster.

    How to use

    1. Click the panel to start a round.
    2. Wait. Clicking before it turns green counts as too soon.
    3. React as fast as you can when it turns green.
    4. After five rounds you get your average and best time.

    Frequently asked questions

What is a normal reaction time?

The average for visual stimuli is about 200–270 ms. Trained players often score 150–200 ms.

    Does my hardware matter?

Yes. Monitor refresh rate, input lag and mouse latency add a few to tens of milliseconds. A 60 Hz screen alone can add up to about 16 ms.
