      Which ratio is best for social media?

      Instagram posts 1:1 or 4:5, stories and Reels 9:16, YouTube thumbnails and X images 16:9, profile pictures 1:1.

      Does cropping lower the quality?

      No pixels are scaled, so the kept area stays sharp. JPG and WebP are saved at the quality you set; PNG is lossless.

      Is the location removed?

      Yes. The saved image contains no EXIF data such as GPS location.
