    Hearing test

    Runs locally

Use headphones in a quiet room. Start at a comfortable volume.

This is not a medical test. Results depend on your device, headphones or screen and your surroundings, and are not as accurate as tests done at a health facility. If you think you have a hearing or vision problem, please see a doctor or health facility.

Use headphones in a quiet room and keep the volume moderate. Stop if a tone feels uncomfortable.

    2. Start the upper limit test. The beeps begin too high to hear and slowly get lower; press the button as soon as you hear them.
    3. Start the lower limit test. The beeps begin too deep to hear and slowly get higher; press as soon as you hear them.
    4. Repeat for the other ear and compare with the table.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is this a medical test?

No. It is a rough check for fun and for comparing headphones. See a hearing specialist if you notice a hearing problem.

Why are my results lower with laptop speakers?

Small speakers often cannot play above 15 kHz or below 100 Hz, so the device limits the result, not your ears.
