    Runs locally

Add one or more images, choose the language of the text and press Extract text.

    How to use

    1. Choose, drop or paste images (screenshots, photos of pages, signs, receipts).
    2. Choose the language of the text. English can be recognized at the same time.
    3. Press Extract text. The first run downloads the language data once.
    4. Edit the text if needed, then copy it or download it as a TXT file.

    Frequently asked questions

How can I get the best results?

Use sharp, well-lit images where the text is straight and fills most of the picture. Screenshots work best; photos of pages should be taken from directly above.

    Does it read handwriting?

Neat printed handwriting sometimes works, but the OCR is made for printed text. Cursive handwriting is usually not recognized.

    Are my images uploaded?

No. Text recognition (Tesseract) runs in your browser, and the language data comes from this site.
